Working with standards partners to develop compliant services
Serials Solutions participates actively in the development and implementation of technical standards. As one of the first vendors to exclusively provide e-resource access and management services, our subscribers have benefited from that involvement.
All of our services are developed to be compliant with industry standards and to use popular protocols and guidelines. Serials Solutions staff also participate with standards bodies and serve on working groups on new standards to ensure that future features and enhancements for our services will meet the developing needs of libraries.
In addition, Serials Solutions services work with other systems and standards where appropriate, including ILSs, OPACs, OpenURL link resolvers, Blackboard, Google, COS, LibraryThing, Syndetics ICE, RefWorks, Project COUNTER, and SUSHI.
Serials Solutions continually works with librarians to incorporate new standards, trends, and custom features into the Serials Solutions services. We value our subscribers as development partners – our goal is to actively educate librarians to better use our services. Once librarians best know how to use our services, they can offer the best feedback to Serials Solutions so we can continually provide features and functionalities that meet the needs of the evolving library industry.
