Software Test Engineer III
Description:
Serials Solutions Technology Team is seeking an additional Test Engineer. This Engineer will work directly with development, product support and our PM/Coordination team members. This Engineer will take responsibility for testing a specific group of products, and can often be the sole testing force during their development. This position reports directly to a Test Lead.
You must be comfortable working in a stimulating and fast-paced environment. You should have a history of working directly with others in triage, resolving issues to the satisfaction of all parties. You should also be a candidate who is passionate about your bugs, but respectful of the development team.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with testing, including 1 year of white box. Knowledge of database query required
- Proven ability to utilize either currently existing tools or to develop proprietary tools to automate browser testing
- Experience creating and building test plans and cases; create schedule estimates for complex web applications
- Knowledge of browser issues, experience with HTML, and familiarity deciphering web page source code
- Proven communication and organizational skills required. Ability to create technical documentation and schedules. Ability to create and maintain processes to support QA goals
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (Bugzilla or similar application)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a version control system (cvs, vss, or similar application)
- Familiarity with open source testing tools
Education:
- B.S. Computer Science, Certifications or equivalent experience
- MLIS preferred
