Training & Product Optimization Specialist

Description:

The Serials Solutions Training and Product Optimization Specialist is responsible for conducting initial training sessions for clients, either by phone or through webinars, as well as 60 and 90 day follow up contacts to help clients use and deploy products to their best advantage.

Clients are primarily systems, technical services and serials librarians who are responsible for loading and maintaining their customized Serials Solutions products. The position's main purpose is to provide product training sessions for Serial Solutions products including 360 Core, 360 Counter, 360 Link, 360 Search and 360 MARC Updates and to train clients in the use of these products.

Additionally, the Training and Product Optimization Specialist will review clients' existing online presence and assets and make recommendations for best practices and integration of Serials Solutions products into them. The Training and Product Optimization Specialist will answer emails and phone calls, escalate bugs and feature requests, troubleshoot technical and non-technical issues and help create support materials and processes. This position will require knowledge of all Serials Solutions products and data and how they interact with each other.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum and provide initial training sessions on Serials Solutions 360 products for clients.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions on products for clients both in webinar and individual formats.
  • Conduct 60 and 90 day follow up contacts with clients to ensure Serials Solutions products are deployed to the best advantage for clients.
  • Research clients' online presence and assets and make informed recommendations for best practices and product integration.
  • Create training programs, materials and processes as needed to continually enhance product support capabilities of company.
  • Occasionally provide on-site training sessions for clients.
  • Identify and track feature requests and product enhancements.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • MLS or MLIS degree from ALA accredited institution, or equivalent library experience.
  • 2 years experience in curriculum development or creation of training materials.
  • 2 years experience in classroom teaching or corporate training environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong multi-task and organizational skills.
  • Great sense of humor.
