Account Executive Mid-Atlantic Territory

Territory: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky

The objective of this position is to achieve assigned sales goals for Serials Solutions Library software products within an assigned geographical territory. Primary responsibilities include: new account development (may necessitate large group presentations, requiring the coordination of various groups of people, product knowledge, public speaking skills, and the use of various pieces of equipment for giving demonstrations), service and growth of existing customers: Various reports to include sales forecasting, sales reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage geographic territory to achieve all sales goals.
  • Minimum of 12-16 in-person sales calls per week when on the road; 15 phone calls per day when in the office.
  • Effective use of the telephone to develop leads, schedule appointments, and close sales.
  • Represent Serials Solutions at trade shows and tech fairs.
  • Perform sales presentations to large and small groups.
  • Manage administrative tasks and territory coverage.
  • Maintain account records in accord with Serials Solutions sales department policy.
  • Submit monthly sales forecasts to Serials Solutions management.
  • Prepare sales call reports, monthly travel schedules, and bi-weekly progress reports for large accounts.
  • Create proposals to develop and close sales.
  • Provide market feed-back, competitive information, product development input, etc., to Serials Solutions management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years direct sales experience (combination of inside and field), with superior in-person selling skills, knowledge/experience with library market preferred.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills required.
  • Proven success in selling and closing customers, creating value, and managing a pipeline.
  • Experience with sales/electronic software products.
  • Computer software usage and proficiency in usage of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, sales/customer databases.
  • Ability to provide dedicated home office space.
